KCommunications, LLC is a Chicago-based boutique public relations agency providing businesses, non-profits and artists communications, marketing and branding consulting services. The agency works with a large network of professionals and institutions in the related fields to provide results for our clients. Our strategy is to serve as our clients’ advocate while cultivating long-term relationships with media professionals and business partners.
Kimiyo Naka
President & Founder
Kimiyo Naka, a bilingual professional (Japanese, English), has 20 years of experience in communications, media relations and project management. As a strategic thinker with strong verbal and written skills, she specializes in building rapport with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Prior to launching her own business in 2015, Kimiyo worked at Encyclopædia Britannica for 11 years as an International Project Manager, completing a number of challenging traditional and digital publishing projects around the globe. Kimiyo then pursued her calling in public relations because of her passion for telling stories of fascinating things and inspirational people. Kimiyo honed her expertise in media relations as an editorial intern at the Chicago Reporter, and her writing has been published by the Chicago Tribune Magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the Chicago Reader. In 2013, she profiled Chicago in an extensive article for All Nippon Airways' travel web site. Kimiyo has worked on high profile projects such as SKYLANDING, Yoko Ono's public art installation in Chicago's Jackson Park. In addition to securing press coverage for her clients, she has also personally provided expert commentary on arts and culture on WBEZ Chicago Public Radio and the Chicago Tribune. Kimiyo has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Columbia College Chicago, and serves as Chair of the Osaka Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International and serves on the Board of Directors of Japan America Society of Chicago. In 2021, Kimiyo was recognized for her civic activism and won the Chicago Sister Cities International Volunteer of the Year Award from World Business Chicago.
